How To Keep Japanese Rice

Freezing steamed rice is a good way to preserve flavor. Try freezing Japanese rice. It's convenient too!

Here's How:

  1. Cook Japanese rice. *See How to Cook Japanese Rice.
  2. Cool the rice.
  3. Divide rice into small portions.
  4. Wrap rice with plastic wrap and flatten them.
  5. Put rice in the freezer. You can keep them in the freezer up to a month.
  6. Put the rice package in microwave and heat for a couple of minutes when you need them.

Tips:

  1. When you pack steamed rice, the package should be flattened thinly so that it can be warmed up quickly.
